The Townsville Hospital and Health Service commissioned FTEC to install a new AMX System, Video Wall and AV rack in the Townsville University Hospital North Block conference room, which is used in disaster management situations.
The Video Wall features 9 screens in a matrix display. The screens can be configured in any combination to suit the needs of the room.
The client asked for a number of pre-programmed standard configurations that can be accessed automatically to suit different scenarios.
In a disaster management scenario, the screens have a preconfigured layout with different inputs. Including several television channels showing the news, websites showing weather and disaster dashboards, whilst simultaneously holding a Teams meeting.
FTEC Electrical have installed two cameras in the room, one above the screen and one on the side. The cameras are pre-configured with specific layouts for different types of meetings or configurations of the room.
The AMX System features two touch panels. One on the wall and another one on the desk. Both panels can control the system and switch between the different modes and inputs.
The touch panel on the desk sits next to a laptop that allows the secretary or meeting manager to access Microsoft Teams, emails, websites, and other software. From this position, they have full control of the AV system which allows them to run the Teams meeting and feeds so that the meeting participants can concentrate on the meeting. They can change zooms on the cameras, change the configuration of the screens, put different displays up, change sources. Do whatever they need to do from their central location.
The system has a secure AV rack installed in the room which holds the equipment that runs the system. The AV rack is a complex digital design to undertake the required functionality. This is then delivered in a simple to use format for easy user interaction. This allows the users to get on with doing what they need to do with the technology to get the results.
